Rioja Tinto Quinto Arrio
Rioja Tinto Quinto Arrio is warm and inviting on the nose, and just beautiful for this price range. There is a tiny hint of vanilla and oak, but it is mostly intense, ripe and very pure black cherry and spicy fruit that you will taste. It’s easy to drink and tastes great over several days.
Us Brits tend towards the lusher oaked styles of Rioja, but unoaked Riojas offer great value and easy drinking. This wine is a fruity and light everyday red with trademark rioja smoothness.
It is a low sulphur, organic wine. Additionally, no animal parts are used in its production so, it is also classified as a vegan wine.
Navarrsotillo is a quality wine producer that began in 1995 when they started converting the family vineyards, fields and orchards to organic farming standards. Their first wine was released two years later. Since then the grower has focused all efforts on organic, quality wines and a commitment to caring for the earth.
The vineyards are divided between several municipalities, Calahorra, Andosilla and San Adrian. This is an area called the “Rioja Mediterranean” with cold winters, mild and rainy springs and autumns, and hot dry summers. The grounds have different textures with limestone, sand, clay and gravel. This all gives the right combination of climate and “terroir” featuring the location that favours elegant wines with soft tannins.
This wine was previously branded Noemus Tinto.
