Chris Darling and Bart Arnst teamed up together in 2007. After making great wine for other people they decided to make great wine for themselves and established the Darling label. The Sauvignon Blanc grapes are sourced from organic vineyards that Bart manages, this way they are able to have full control over the whole process. With over 40 years wine-making experience between them Chris and Bart have what it takes to make regional, complex wine which drinks well on any occasion.
The Wairau Valley is one of two river valleys that make up the heartland of New Zealand’s Marlborough wine region. An extensive patchwork of vineyards surrounds the town of Blenheim in the north-eastern corner of the South Island, near where the Wairau River meets the Pacific Ocean. Nowadays, Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is world famous, and the Wairau Valley is home to some of New Zealand’s most famous producers.
