Bonnet Huteau Cabernet Cot

Bonnet Huteau Cabernet Cot has delicious aromas of red fruits and spices. It is a supple and powerful wine: surprising of its lower than usual ABV at 11%. The wine wonderfully combines two grape varieties: Cabernet franc 80% Côt 20% that are organically grown on this Loire estate.

Bonnet Huteau is run by Rémi Bonnet who is president of the region’s Maîtres Vignerons cooperative cellar. Helped by his brother Jean-Jacques, the estate is based around the ruins of a château dating to the middle ages. They have about 48 hectares under vines, with some 42 ha planted with Muscadet. This already substantial estate has further increased with the purchase of 10 ha of the neighbouring Château des Gautronnières. The brothers are in the process of converting this to organic farming. This really does have the feel of being a family run affair and one that cares for the environment and future generations.

Another exceptional wine from this grower.
