Description

Bersan Chablis – Domaine Bersan

Bersan Chablis is a brilliant pale gold beneath its fairly clear robe. This organically grown white wine expresses a very fresh, lively and mineral nose that is almost flinty in character. There are warm, flowery notes reminiscent of orange blossom. The palate is flexible and there is an almost salivating finish.

The Bersan family have lived in Saint-Bris-le-Vineux for many generations. The family tries to maintain a traditional approach by raising its wines in the most natural way possible in order to express and preserve the best terroirs. There are 22 hectares of organic vineyards located between Auxerre and Chablis in northern Burgundy in the commune of Préhy; the plots are on hillsides on Kimmeridgian soil. The wine is produced in a modern winery that combines traditional and new technical methods.

The communal appellation of the vineyards of Chablis, in the Yonne was established in January 1938. The Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée Chablis confirms the excellence of this dry white wine which has maintained its top ranking. This is thanks to the quality of the Chardonnay grape variety and its long history.
